Mindfulness Classes

We cannot wait for springtime in Kentucky! We invite you to join us on the farm surrounded by horses grazing in green pastures, our vegetable garden coming back to life and (fingers-crossed) baby goats here at Castle View Farm.

 

Our popular farm-based Mindfulness Classes for middle and high school students will be offered this June. We have also added outdoor yoga classes for students and adults to enjoy!

 

Studies of mindfulness have found a number of benefits that include:

·  Reduction in anxiety

·  Improved ability to manage stress

·  Improvements in focus and concentration

·  Enhanced empathy

·  Improved management of strong emotions

 

Mindfulness classes will be led by our Director of Mental Health, Dr. Kristin Dawson.

 

Our students have found the farm setting to be peaceful and a welcome break from online classes. We teach students that mindfulness is paying attention here and now, with kindness and curiosity, and then choosing your behavior. This spring we will bring back mindful movement (goat yoga is a favorite), mindful horse-grooming, mindful eating (straight from the garden) and meditation on our yoga platform.
