Wild Minds is thrilled to partner with Easter Seals Cardinal Hill Pediatric Therapy Clinic to offer organically grown produce this 2021 growing season!

Locust Trace AgriScience Center teacher, Toni Myers, manages the Kentucky Castle farm. Mrs. Myers and her students grow a variety of vegetables and herbs for the Castle Farm restaurant. We are very pleased to offer this produce to the feeding clinic for use in therapy sessions.

Vegetable take-home bags are also available for families to purchase each week. We know that our locally grown vegetables will provide incredible nutritional value to families. We also believe that taking home the same foods used during feeding sessions will help to advance therapy goals!

Bags of vegetables are just $5 per week. Please purchase your vegetable take-home bag by Sunday night. The purchased vegetable bags will be refrigerated and available for pick-up the following Tuesday from the Cardinal Hill pediatric clinic.

What to Expect in Your
Veggie Bag

Because our Veggie Bags contain the freshest produce available and because there is no way to precisely predict growing conditions during a season, we won’t know the actual content of a Veggie Bag until it’s time for the weekly harvest.

That being said, the average weekly bags will be a variety of 2-4 items, approximately 1/4 bushel in size. Based on a typical growing season, you may find these items in your share:

June: arugula, beet, broccoli, carrot, cauliflower, cucumber, spinach, swiss chard, kale, cabbage, green onion, radish, cilantro, herbs, peas, bok choy

July: basil, beet, corn, carrot, tomato, greens, melon, onion, eggplant, bell pepper, sweet pepper, yellow squash, zucchini, green bean, leek, swiss

chard, potato

August: basil, carrot, corn, eggplant, green bean, melon, onion, pepper, potato, tomato, various squash,  zucchini

September: sweet potato, peppers, tomato, herbs, eggplant, various squash
